William Galen the Coyote

Vision: Honestly, the words that comes to mind when I look at William is "rebel" and "outcast". Now I know that some would say that nerd would be more appropriate due to his glasses, but I see something deeper than that. He is just so different than the other Galens. The glasses are just the start. No one else in the Galen house or any of the Mythsetians (from what I've seen) wear glasses. His color scheme of red separates him out from the other Galens as well. Add in the fact that he has no cybernetics to speak of and possibly won't receive them in the near future, and you have an outcast, and possibly a rebel. A silent reserved rebel, but a rebel none-the-less. Your description says he feels shunned, but the picture here tells a different story. He has that cocky grin while he is straightening his glasses. I think there's more to Will than is let on. Its always the quiet and distant ones (especially a quiet nerd) that surprises everyone. But that also makes me confused. Rebel, outcast, nerd, distant; not really the kind of face I'd expect from one with these traits.

Originality: I give points to this one. He has quite an original design, not just among the Mythsetians, but among the Sonic caste as well. Now I have seen some dogs in the comics, but I mostly play the games. So to see a dog character done in a Sonic Adventure style is really cool. Also, I can't ever recall ever seeing a Sonic character wearing glasses and techno-gauntlets before.

Technique: Not much to say here without getting repetitive. Colors are nice, they compliment each other, and the background is quite neat. It looks like a computer chip or circuit board of some kind; quite fitting, given his skills. However, a few things. One, I can't help but look at the wrist gauntlets and be a little lost. Without your description, I would not have guessed they were supposed to be computers and tool-holders. Now maybe that was the intention, to make not look so technological. But tt seems to me that if you're trying to portray that tech-head sort of character, hit it home and just lay on the tech. Show us something like a radar dish, a computer screen, slots with small wrenches and screwdrivers sticking out; just something to give us a visual hint at how tech savvy William is.

Impact: Now again, not sure what to think of this guy. You definitely set him up as less magical and more practical. What I mean is that while his technomancy skills may be lacking, he probably spends more time tinkering with machinery using tools instead of magic. Granted, I love the character. But the fact that his actual skills are not actually touched upon makes me curious. I even checked up on your wiki page of William. However, due to my anticipation and high hopes for William's development, he warrants a solid 4/5 in my book for this category.

Personal Thoughts: I know this one might almost sound like a negative review, but it is far from it. Most of my negatives simply came from confusion and anticipation for more on William. Its all a matter of context and clarification. Many of your character do play minor roles in your stories, sure; but even they have random tid-bits to give a window into who they really are. I saw nothing about other non-magical skills in his profile, and that saddens me. So I think the only problem I have with William is I just don't know who he is, even from outside sources besides your stories. Do I like the character? Absolutely. He has incredible potential to be something new and very special in your world. I also...have pictures in my head where William, Jack, and Tails all put their heads together to invent some new pieces of tech. I don't know what they can build...but that shit is sure to be BOSS!
