SlugTerra Chara: Kai Li

In an on the spot decision, I chose to check out SlugTerra for two reasons: 1) It was made by Asaph Fipke, creator of Storm Hawks, and 2) the main characters featured a lot of voice actors I was familiar with. To my surprise, I found myself really enjoying it. The tone is pretty much a lot like Storm Hawks and the "Shane Gang" are basically the Storm Hawks themselves, complete with Sam Vincent voicing the main character. It's an interesting concept and the animation quality is really quite good. Plus, they ride mechanical animals... yeah, this show knew how to reeeeaaaallly appeal to me. If you've got time, I recommend checking it out.

Kai Li is a slugslinger from the Eastern Caverns and a master of Slug Fu. Her ace slug is a Stormrager slug named Sparks. She left her home to explore the rest of SlugTerra and become a better slugslinger, believing she had nothing else to learn at home. Her chosen Mecha-Beast is a DR-8K model nicknamed "Drake". Drake is a fast and strong mount that is also equipped with a slug blaster in its mouth, allowing Kai to fire slugs while mounted. Like other Mecha-Beasts, Drake can transform into a bike and aquatic mode, as well as a flight mode, which is still in beta testing. Drake is also one of few Mecha-Beasts equipped with an artificial intelligence, allowing Drake to think and move on his own. Unfortunately, Kai has a terrible sense of direction and always gets lost. Thankfully, she befriends a timid, young tracker named Salvadore "Slick", who often leads the way for them. When they meet the Shane Gang, Kai immediately develops a crush on Eli, having a thing for the hero-type. Slick, however, didn't take kindly to this, bearing his own feelings for Kai and tries constantly to get her attention by being more of a hero, which often ends in disaster.

I swear, I got ten minutes into the show before I started thinking of a character. Browsing on the wiki led me to learn about a character called Junjie from the Eastern Caverns, a clearly Asian influenced area. Plus, I always wanted to use the name Kai for something and now I finally get the chance. Obv, a dragon mount for her and electric themed ace slug lol. Anyway, dunno if a story will come out or something. Just did this for fun.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Her name is not pronounced like "Kylie". There is a distinct pause between both words. It's "Kai [pause] Li".
