Here's another SA style of my Sonic character, Sapphire the Kelpie. Yes, a kelpie looks like a horse, but I instantly saw her as a shark-mermaid like creature.

Sapphire is the third eldest of the House of Mythos and hails from the Veil Catacombs, the secret underground cavern beneath her ancestral homeland. As a member of a powerful family of magic, Sapphire is gifted with the powers of hydrokinesis. She can manipulate all liquid forms of water and is capable of transforming from a land form (legs) to a sea form (tail). Though she prefers spending time in water, she is used to being on land. After her youngest sister Azure successfully defected from their brother Garnett's evil rule and goal for world destruction, Sapphire wished to follow suite. However, to keep her from leaving, Garnett set their sister Shamrock on fire. Sapphire was scarred by the event, but nowhere near as much as Shamrock was and stayed to protect Shamrock. Beautiful and mature, Sapphire is not one for careless action and she can easily adapt to most situations.

Ya know? I can actually see Sapphire living in an underwater city that looks like an ocean version of New York. Kinda like the city of Rapture in the game Bioshock.

Is it a selkie or a kelpie because I know that selkies are in mythology, but I have never heard of a kelpie. Selkies are basically creatures that were originally seals, but they eventually shed their skin to be reborn as a baby human or in this case a Mobian.

A kelpie is a water horse. I intended her to be more horse-like but plans changed when I was designing her.
