Ghost Mythos the Rainbow Serpent

Vision: "Does the artwork present or reflect a point of view, theme or idea?" The color and color mixing schemes here are quite nice for one. I don't know much about Rainbow Serpents (none at all in fact), but the look and idea here is incredible. I see you went with the reptilian look all the way. The tail is reminiscent of a rattlesnake, and his "hood" reminds me of a cobra. So the reptile theme is very clear in his physical appearance. But it goes one step further. His bracelets and anklets look like coiled up snakes, adding to the look in his simple costume design.

Originality: "Is the artwork fresh or new in its style, execution or approach? Is it something you haven't seen before in its particular genre? Does it surprise you?" Seeing as how this is the first rainbow serpent to enter any Sonic continuity that I am aware of, absolutely. His look is fresh but with a Sonic-style twist. The fact that his profile mentions him being mute is also quite new from my experience. It adds both originality and mystery to his character. Makes you wonder what goes on in his head.

Technique: "Was the artwork skillfully created? Does the artist exhibit advanced knowledge of the medium and/or bring special focus to the craft of the medium used?" The technique is improved since Azure's work. I know I keep bringing that up, but it gives me a base to work with when comparing. The technique is quite beautiful. I'd like point out his stripe design for this. Many times I would have expected someone to put a black line in between each set of different colored stripes going along his skin and not just for the outline of his being. It makes his skin seem smoother than if there were black lines there. The colors blend well, making the character quite appealing to look at. Believe me, this could have easily turned into a mess of colors if it wasn't handled right, and you sure delivered.

Impact: "Does the artwork resonate with you or evoke strong emotions? Does it make you think? Does it blow your mind?" It invokes a few emotions in me. His loyalty is good, if not misplaced. The colors just jump out at me and are just so pretty to look at. The character design itself is beautiful to say the least. His personality though is quite the opposite of his external appearance. A mysterious mute that no one really knows what goes on in his head. Makes me think he's got more on his mind than we realize. It's the quiet ones that you have to worry about.

Personal Thoughts: He's...so...colorful! That's been the theme of this critique thus far. He's probably the most colorful character out of many of the Sonic caste, if not the most colorful. Too bad his personality doesn't match. But I find that catchy. He's one of those characters that you just cannot judge by outside appearances. It makes me wonder what he's thinking. How does he REALLY feel about the situation with Azure? Does he care at all? Is he really just a heartless and uncaring reptile? Is he really loyal to Garnett, or does he have a hidden agenda? I don't think Garnett even knows. I guess we'll see Ghost's true colors (pun totally intended) at the end. I'm the one hoping that Ghost is not as loyal as Garnett makes him out to be. PARALLEL ALERT: I guess we'll see if Ghost is to Garnett like Soundwave is to Megatron...or if he's more like Starscream. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Wink)"/>
